Stand up comic and sketch writer Roya Hamadani will take you on her bizarre journey from being diagnosed with bipolar disorder at 33, transforming into Manic Roya, diligently questing for peen, and eventually finding her happy ending, mostly. Sometimes shocking, a little heart-breaking, and always entertaining, this is a unique story of how a few months in a completely altered state of mind can make all the difference in where and how and with whom you end up. The Pickle is a deeply personal, semi-autobiographical drama about the harrowing dangers of addiction and effects on family. Set one year after the devastating loss of her cousin Cody, The Pickle follows Nellie, a video editor in her mid-twenties, as she grapples with grief and the memories of their relationship. Cody, who died at 18 from a drug overdose, frequently visits Nellie as a spirit—his presence equal parts comforting and haunting. Nellie often pushes Cody away when he uses drugs around her, unable to confront the pain of his choices. But this time, Cody forces her to witness his struggle, reliving the moments that defined their bond and the tragedy of his illness. The film explores the complexities of grief, the enduring nature of love, and the unshakable imprint left by addiction.

What follows is a winding journey through the awkward, painful, unexpectedly hilarious process of finding yourself again after loss. “Homecoming” is a darkly funny solo show about complicated grief, identity, and how losing your mom can really mess with your study abroad year (and the next 20 years after that). Dara Kosberg is a Los Angeles-based storyteller, comedian, actress, and emerging screenwriter whose work blends humor with heart. A Moth StorySLAM winner, she’s performed at iconic venues including San Francisco’s Punch Line Comedy Club, The Marsh Theater, and Brooklyn’s Union Hall. Dara placed in the top three out of 150 comics in Rooster T. Feather’s New Talent Competition.
