This July, FRIGID Nightcap returns to Under St. Marks with FUTURE TENSE — a late-night variety show about the culture war over what comes next. As the U.S. fights over its own history, identity, and direction, we’re rejecting authoritarian nostalgia, billionaire futures, empire worship, capitalist doom loops, and the myth that history only moves in one direction.
Through comedy, drag, burlesque, music, theatre, performance art, and whatever else refuses to behave, FUTURE TENSE asks what happens when we stop worshipping the past and start fighting for a future that is collective, liberated, unruly, and actually worth living in.
The future is anxious. The future is contested. The future is ours to make weird.
