Clay Mommy follows Violet, a young trans woman who quits sex work to return to her estranged Orthodox Jewish mother. Violet becomes the mother of a family friend who is beginning to transition. Seeking guidance, Violet forces her grandmother to come to life as a golem to teach her how to be a mother.
