New York City Fringe Application
Hello and thank you for your interest in the New York City Fringe 2025! This is FRIGID’s biggest festival and this year it’s going to be bigger than ever so we’re very excited to see your application! Fringe is an unjuried festival and participants will be chosen on both a first-come-first-served basis and a lottery basis, with the first seven applications received for each venue being automatically accepted and the rest being drawn based on venue preference. We will accept 15 shows per venue. This year, will be hosting 60 shows across four venues: Under St Marks, Wild Project, the Chain Studio, and the Chain Main Stage. New York City Fringe will run Wednesday, April 2nd to Sunday April 20th, 2025.
The festival is open to all kinds of performances, including, but not limited to, plays, comedy, musicals, storytelling, improv, dance, and clowning. All shows must have a run time of 60 minutes or less. While this is an unjuried festival, there are certain restrictions laid out in the festival handbook (linked below). These primarily pertain to safety (e.g. no fires) or to ensuring a smooth festival and an environment suitable for everyone (e.g. no painting the stage). We will review applications to ensure they are in line with festival policies and safety. Each producer/artist/company may only submit one show. If you submit more than one show, we will discard all but the first application.
Before you begin your application, please read the festival handbook. This should answer any questions you have about the festival and covers important dates, space usage, festival policies and guidelines, technical information, and more.
The application went live on September 2nd at 12:00pm Eastern Daylight Time, 2024 and will remain open until October 30th at 11:59pm East Daylight Time, 2024. Any applications received outside of that window will be discarded.
Please proof read your responses before submitting. FRIGID will reproduce data EXACTLY as it is entered; we do NOT correct improper capitals or misspellings. Our assumption is that you have included such anomalies as a marketing or artistic choice.
There is a $40, non-refundable application fee that will be invoiced to the producer using the contact information provided.
